Excerpt from a letter to Gramma

Meanwhile, I'm over here and there's nothing to begin to suggest that the year's coming to an end.  The northeast monsoon's starting up, so it's a little cooler and rainy, but still plenty green and comfortable.

...Now we've started planning for the end of the session, getting seminars organized and also preparing for our Halloween party.  That should be a  lot of fun, everyone will come in costume, we'll do pumpkin carving, have candy, maybe a pinata...  Although I've still got to figure out what to be.  Any suggestions would be welcome.

Sarah...and I are also starting to plan our trip to India after the program ends.  We've booked our flight over to Trivandrum, in  the very SW, and have a general idea of places we'd like to see, but have a lot of details to work out, and generally just need to learn a lot more about the country so we have a better idea of just what we'd like to do.  We're planning to spend about a month there and come back to SL for a few days towards the end of January before returning home.  Should be a great trip.  I'm really looking forward to it, although it does mean that I ought to have something figured out in the way of employment for just afterwards.  I've got some ideas, but nothing clear enough to say anything about.
